Advanced Interaction Media as a Component of Everyday Life for the Coming Generation

The information society is an economic reality, not an intellectual abstraction. Advanced Interaction Media (AIM) are becoming part of our every day life. Access to knowledge and assistance in knowledge processing are key factors in our changing society where people are provided with more information than before. With the increased automation of "intelligent systems", one might expect that humans play less important roles in the functioning of the system. Machines can be built to perform many of the routine tasks allocated to humans today. However, since it is difficult to design machines that can handle unexpected situations, human will remain in the control loop. This paper addresses new issues on interaction with intelligent agents, human and/or machines. In particular, problems like cooperation, communication, and education are discussed.
